Fermented foods have been produced for centuries in nearly every culture to preserve + improve the digestibility of food. They are considered "functional foods" because they support a healthy gut microbiome, which mediates the health of the body as a whole.

  1. Sauerkraut

    a traditional Eastern-European preparation of fermented cabbage (either ya love it or you don’t)

  2. Cheddar Cheese

  3. Kimchi

    the spicier, Asian cousin of sauerkraut

  4. Raw Apple Cider Vinegar

    a traditional bread preparation that aids gluten/grain digestion

  7. Yogurt & Kefir (ideally raw)
